Tennessee Hosts County Celebrations Across the State

Multiple county fairs are taking place across Tennessee during the month of August, including the Tennessee State Fair, the Sevier County Fair, the Cumberland County Fair and others.

The Wilson County – Tennessee State Fair, held at the James E. Ward Agriculture Center in Lebanon, runs from August 15 – August 24.

The State Fair opens on weekdays at 5 p.m., Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 12 noon.

Each day, the State Fair will offer free entertainment from K9’s in Flight, All-American Racing Pigs, Doodles the Clown, and stilt walker Farmer Pete in addition to hosting an array of pageants, competitions, livestock showings, six stages of live music, rodeos and much more.

In addition, the State Fair will also host Monster Truck Wars, “America’s wildest monster truck show,” this year on August 23 and August 24.

The State Fair will also host a Special Needs Day on August 17, which allows individuals with disabilities the opportunity to enter the Fair free of charge and have access to ride some of the Midway rides before they open to the general public.

Also upcoming this month is the Cumberland County Fair which runs from August 19 – August 24 in Crossville.

In addition to livestock shows, carnival rides and games, and food vendors, the Cumberland County Fair will also feature a variety of contests ranging from photography to baking, pageants to art, and floral arrangements.

This week will also kick off the Obion County Fair, which runs from August 16 – August 24 at the Obion County Fairgrounds in Union City.

The Main Stage at the Obion County Fair will host pageants, championship wrestling and nightly drawings for prizes. The Obion County Fair will also host a duck calling contest, Kids Day activities, a pet show, mud racing, a demolition derby, and more.

Also taking place this month is the Claiborne County Fair from August 26 – August 31 at the Claiborne County Fairgrounds in New Tazewell.

Tickets, priced at $15, to the Claiborne County Fair include parking, entertainment, and unlimited rides. The Fair will also host gospel and bluegrass music, a lawn mower pull, beauty pageant, ATV/UTV drag racing, and a demolition derby.

In Sevierville, the Sevier County Fair will run from August 27 – September 2 at the Sevier County Fairgrounds and will feature unique entertainment opportunities including a dog fashion show, KFW Wrestling, a rodeo, and more.
